Judge DeNoce lives the “honorable” title every day in everything he does both on and off the bench. He is the finest example of a public servant, a person of character and high moral standards, incredibly bright and hard working. I was blessed to have him as a deputy district attorney where he also excelled. The toughest matters the office faced ended up on his (and Michael Schwartz’s) desk where they were handled with expertise, professionalism and courage. He served in the highest traditions of that office.
Congratulations my friend, on this earned and well deserved recognition.

Judge Kevin DeNoce was co-counsel with Phil Dunn in a month’s long Writ of Habeus Corpus proceeding in my courtroom In the Matter of Efren Cruz in around 2001. This was a murder case in which the defendant was wrongfully convicted and Mr. DeNoce was a critical part of the team required to prove his innocence at the hearing. Mr. Dunn has written a book, “When Darkness Reigns” regarding that proceeding. Judge DeNoce did an incredible job and is truly emblematic of the fact that an excellent trial lawyer can be the foundation for the making of an excellent trial judge. I am sure his extraordinary legal skills, patience, perceptiveness, intellect and impeccable ethical standards are manifest every day on the bench, and make all involved in the justice system proud.
